The competition was held in two categories and awarded nine prizes including a prize of a concert violin made by master luthier Michal Prokop from Australian Timbers.
Goetz Richter, artistic director of the competition commented on the exceptional standard of performance throughout.
"It is very inspiring for musicians and audiences to return to concert life and welcome artists from around Australia for such thrilling live performance in Kendall," Mr Richter said.
His view was reflected by comments from eminent judges Michele Walsh, Roger Benedict and Daniel Roehn during the two days of performances which also featured a string ensemble supporting performances of finalists.
The competition proceeded through three rounds with both the semi-final round in Sydney, and the final round in Kendall postponed on account of government travel restrictions.
Performances of the finalists in category B of the competition also featured premier performances of the Microsonata II by Elizabeth Younan, winner of the competition's Watermark 2020 Composition Prize.
The next Kendall National Violin Competition is planned for 2022 with finals held in Kendall in March 2023.
